I was tagged by Angelle, so here goes...

6 Facts About Me

1. I can put my fist in my mouth. This talent has won me a free copy of the transcript of "That 70's Show" when I went to view a taping. I actually got 2 transcripts, and got my copy signed by most of the main cast members after the show.

2. I still have a hard time believing that I'm a mom, much less a "full time mom". It just seems crazy to me that I'm going to be known as "Annabelle's mom" instead of "Keri" before long. I still feel like I'm not old enough to actually be married and a mom. Where has life gone?

3. I'm a recon-shopper. I usually do lots of pre-shopping before actually buying something. When I'm looking for a chair (for example), I will shop anywhere that I think I can find "the perfect chair" before deciding exactly which one to buy. Thanks to the internet, I can do lots of pre-shopping online, but that doesn't always help because I like to see things in person.

4. I pride myself on staying in touch with people from my past. I may not talk with or see many of the people in my past very often, but I try to either remember them on their birthdays, keep in touch through Christmas cards, send an occasional email, or even visit with them when I go back home to Alabama. I have even kept in touch with a couple of my teachers from high school and professors from college. When I make a friendship, I hate to ever let it go.

5. I hardly ever buy clothes that are not on sale. The only time that I buy clothes at full price is when I'm buying them as a gift.

6. I don't tell my husband that I love him nearly often enough. I hate this and plan to work on changing this. I love him so much more than he'll ever know, and I should tell him that all of the time!

Here's the part where I tag 6 people to post a blog about their "6 Facts about Me". Rather than commenting on your blog to let you know that you've been tagged, I'm going to tell you here and ask that you come back to my blog to leave me a comment with a link to your "6 facts" once you've written them. So, I'm tagging Fancy (yes, I know you haven't blogged in nearly a year... It's time to start back again!), Chelsi, Kel, Erica, Mike (since Angelle didn't tag him... umm... that doesn't sound right), and Sally!

P.S. Kathy- I wish you were a blogger so I could have tagged you too! :)

Random Questions

I was tagged by Erica...

What’s the first thing you do when waking up in the morning?
If by "morning" you mean after like 6am, not after midnight, then it's usually feeding and playing with Corgan for a little while before Annabelle wakes up.

Do you prefer a shower or bath?
Shower because it's quick, unless it's really cold out and I have time for a steamy HOT bath

How many times a day do you brush your teeth?
Twice, at least... but flossing is another story

How often do you find yourself thinking about your ex?
Occasionally, but just because I've kept in touch with so many people from my past and I always like to know what's going on in their lives.

A light pink krzr

What would you do with a 10 bill you found on the ground?

I hope so, but I definitely don't say that enough.

Hatching eggs and getting to hold the baby chicks. Ohh... and winning a "highest kite" competition with my dad and winning this cool plastic rainbow ring that I've actually seen make a comeback in the past few years.

Are you closer with your mom or dad?
Probably my mom, especially since becoming a mom myself.

Do you prefer the tanning bed or the sun?
The sun

Zoolander and Gone with the Wind (how's that for opposite ends of the spectrum?)

What’s the last thing you think about before going to sleep at night?
The millions of things that I can't forget to do the next day, even though I know I won't have time to do them all.

What would you do if your best friend jumped on your ex the day after you two split?
What would I do if Keith jumped on Keith the day after we split? Since we aren't going to split and it would be hard for Keith to jump on himself, I don't guess I really need to answer this question. :)

Annabelle's drama maybe.

I leave, although that usually doesn't work.

Umm.. does paying someone to make it once a week count?

How many pillows do you have to sleep with?
Usually 2 right now

Do you prefer to sleep alone or with someone?
I LOVE to cuddle with Keith when neither of us is sick or pregnant. I also love to cuddle with Corgan (and loved it with Belle too, but she won't cuddle now).

Mommy Bloggers' Challenge

I was just looking through some of Nikki's latest pics and was inspired to start a Mommy Bloggers' Challenge...

Apparently Nikki put this sock on Halle's hand just to see what she'd do and she wore the thing for hours (and even napped in it, then woke up and pushed a stroller around the neighborhood in it)! So your challenge (should you choose to accept) is to get your child (or neice or friend's child or some random kid off the street... with his/her parent's permission, of course) to wear something strange or in the wrong place for the longest period of time possible. Leave a comment on this blog entry with a link to your picture and information about what the item is and where and how long he/she wore it. I'll have to start rackin' my brain for this one too. :D Feel free to submit more than one picture!

P.S. Despite the name, this challenge is not limited to just "Mommy Bloggers". If you don't have a blog or website, but have a picture to submit, just email it to me with the info and I'll be happy to post it for you! :)

This or That Tuesday- Take Comfort (A Week Late)

So, it's a week later, but I'm finally answering Erica's tag...

Which is more comforting for you…

1. Lying down on the couch, or stretching out on a recliner? Stretching out on a couch, preferably with someone else at the other end rubbing my feet!
2. Going barefoot or wearing soft slippers? I hardly ever wear anything that covers my entire foot, unless I'm visiting Alabama in the winter.
3. Eating ice cream, or pizza? Ice cream (sorry Megan... I'm with Erica and Angelle on this one!)
4. Watching on TV…a classic movie or a reality show? Oooohhh... the Sofie's Choice of television... Depends on the movie and/or show!
5. Wearing: blue jeans or sweat pants? Does anyone really wear sweat pants anymore? I think a better question is "blue jeans or jogging pants"... and I'd have to choose jogging pants.
6. A long, soothing bubble bath or a quick, invigorating shower? A HOT bubble bath!
7. Furniture: leather, or something more on the fuzzy side? Fuzzies please
8. Soft, classical music, or upbeat rock & roll? Rock & roll.
9. Darkness or light? Darkness, I guess.
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You get married, or otherwise begin cohabitating with a significant other. S/he moves into your place, but brings with them the UGLIEST chair you have ever seen! You really don’t want this thing in your home, but SO says it is the most comfy chair s/he has ever sat in, and no way will they part with it. Do you: grin and bear it, or scheme to get rid of the montrosity somehow? I put it away in storage until it is forgotten about then I either sell it, give it away, or throw it out. :)

Blog Tag Catch-up

Due to reading others' blogs, I've been "tagged" twice with blog entries, but haven't had time to do the entries. So... here goes...

Tag #1: My Favorite Time of the Day

Like the other posts that I've read, my favorite time of the day is bedtime related. For a while now, Annabelle and I have had a bedtime routine of reading her "You're My Little Lovebug" book, doing nite-nite kisses and hugs, starting her nite-nite CD, then laying her down and saying good night. Recently we've added another step in the routine where instead of putting her to bed as soon as the CD starts, I rock her for one song and she lays her head on my shoulder. During that song, we are quiet most of the time, but occasionally we whisper things to each other. A common conversation between us goes like this...

Annabelle: Mama
Me: Yes, Baby?
Annabelle: Hi.

Such a simple little conversation, but it brings such a huge smile to my face, and sometimes even tears to my eyes.

With that said, as long as Annabelle is calm and the nite-nite routine goes as smoothly as it usually does, this time of rocking and when Annabelle says "nite-nite" and signs "I Love You" as we leave the room is my favorite time of the day. However, if Annabelle is wound up or overly tired and the nite-nite routine doesn't go smoothly, then my favorite time of the day is the few minutes after she's gone to bed and I get to sit back and take a deep, quiet breath again. :)

Tag #2: The Wedding Tag

1. Where did you meet your husband? The first time that I remember meeting him was at a career fair at the University of Alabama. I was recruiting for Harris, and he was submitting his resume for a job. :)

2. What was the first thing you said to your husband? Are you looking for a job? (I don't know... whatever the Harris recruiters are supposed to say to smart kids looking for jobs.)

3. Where was your first date? Ummm... date; huh? I don't know if we really had a first "date". It was more of hangin' out as friends, then it just became more.

4. Where was your first kiss? Probably not on the mouth. ;)

5. Did you have a long or short engagement? Is 2 months considered short? Yes? Then short. :)

6. Where did you get engaged? In our brand new dining room. We moved into our brand new house (now known as The Donald Barn) on a Monday, and got engaged over a candlelit dinner prepared by my favorite cook, Keith, on Saturday.

7. Where were you married? In our brand new backyard. We actually planned on getting married at our house, and crazily enough, that was one of the selling points of our house. We thought that with the big yard it would be a perfect spot for our wedding.

8. How did the reception go? I am not much for dancing, so instead of having a dance floor, a DJ, and dance music for entertainment, we opted for a casino setup. We had CRAPS, roulette, and black jack tables all run by the local Lion's Club. Each guest was given a bag of poker chips to gamble with, and at the end of the reception, the poker chips were turned in for raffle tickets. The raffle tickets were put into a drawing for various gift cards which were given away instead of individual party favors. Our wedding was in early December, so we had a vintage Christmas theme. The wedding cake was decorated with vintage-looking ornaments, the food was a buffet of our favorite Christmas meal dishes, the drinks were various drinks popular in the early 1900s, the music was a combination of favorite Christmas classics and other classic songs from the early to mid 1900s, and family heirlooms from the Donald and Kolumbus families were used as decorations. The entire wedding was extra-special because it was all made perfect with the help of friends and family who made the bouquets, cakes, helped with music and setup, actually married us (Ben's mom was our wedding officiant), and so much more! See pictures from the wedding (The pictures on kodakgallery look grainy, but I'm not sure why.)

9. How was the honeymoon? Wonderful! Since we had a short engagement and only 2 months to plan a wedding AND get all moved into our new house at the same time, we planned an easy honeymoon. A couple of weeks after we got engaged, we still hadn't decided where to go on our honeymoon when we went to the movies to see Elf. In the movie, they go to Rockerfeller Center to see the BIG Christmas Tree. We both commented on how that would be cool to see, and decided that seeing NYC in December would be a perfect honeymoon... so that's what we did! During that week, we saw 4 Broadway shows, walked through Central Park, toured all of Manhattan on foot and a bit on the "Sex and the City" tour, ate fancy NYC meals, and just enjoyed each other's company. It was a perfect cold getaway for a couple of Floridians. See the Honeymoon pictures (they're G-rated... I promise!)
