Today is the Greatest...

Corgan's bedtime routine is to read a book (or two) in Annabelle's room, then bring him into his room where he turns off his light and turns on his bedtime cd. After that, whoever is putting him to bed will "cuddle" (rock) Corgan for about one song, put him in bed to say prayers with his "prayer bear", then give him a little back scratchin'. Keith and I each have our own little variances of the routine. I'm not positive of what Keith does, but sometimes I'll talk with Corgan about his day while we're cuddling or I might dance with him during cuddle-time instead of rocking.

The bedtime cd that we put Corgan to bed with every night is appropriately Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Smashing Pumpkins. The cd is exactly what the title says it is: musical lullaby versions of Smashing Pumpkins' songs with no words. It's really quite soothing music. Last night after putting Corgan to bed, Keith told me that during the first song, Today, Corgan said "Sing Today Daddy!". I was surprised to find out that singing to Corgan is one of Keith's routine variances, and I thought that was freakin' adorable!

Tonight I put Corgan to bed, and thought I would try the singing thing. I started singing Today, but quickly realized that I really just know the first line. I had to start making up my own lyrics which consisted of lines like "I love my boy. He is so cute!" and "I loooooove my Corgan!" After I said the "Corgan" line, Corgan picked up his head from my shoulder to look at me and say "No Corgan in Today Mommy." I could help laughing hysterically. He's such a cutie!
