Forget RSVP... Respond Dammit!
I'm really upset with the RSVP response, or rather the LACK of RSVP response, that I've gotten for Annabelle's birthday party. I'm not talking about those of you who read my blog... I know who of you is able to come and who isn't, but I'm talking about the parents of the kids at Belle's school. Only ONE (besides Nikki, of course) has RSVPed for her birthday party that is in less than 5 days! I am not so much upset that people don't want to come to "my" party, but I know that Annabelle is SOOO excited about "all my friends coming to my Land Before Time birthday party", and so far, only 2 of them from school are coming... that I know of. Now, it could be that parents just don't respond nowadays and all of them are going to show up at the party with their whole families (since the invitation did say "siblings welcome", but it also said to rsvp for all attendees), but then if that happens, I won't be prepared food-wise or with the right number of party favors. As someone who is usually really good about RSVPing, this really seems rude. And as the mother of a nearly 3-year-old who thinks that all of her friends from school are going to be at her birthday party and specifically talks about certain kids, it hurts me to think that she might be disappointed because those kids might not come and I can't prepare her for that. I probably sound totally ridiculous complaining about this, but it bothers me enough that I asked the teacher to mention it to the parents as they picked their kids up today (yet still haven't gotten ANY additional responses from that if she did do it) AND I'm sitting in a parking lot stealing internet at 1:30 in the morning just because I wanted to see if maybe I got RSVPs by email that I somehow missed (and no, I didn't). :(
