Chased Out of My Own Room

Here it is, almost 5am, and once again, I've been up for over an hour in the middle of the night. This past week they've been doing the modification ducts off of the existing A/C. This was fine until it got cold. Now the office is too cold for Annabelle to sleep down there with no heat getting to that room. Last night, she woke up freezing in the middle of the night and ended up in our bed. Tonight, I was hoping to avoid the whole getting up in the middle of the night thing by letting her sleep in Corgan's crib in our room. That worked out fine until about 3am. Annabelle woke up asking for water. I decided that she probably did have a super dry mouth from the dry heated air, so I got her some water. She seemed to have gone back to sleep, but started talking in her sleep very soon after. Lately, when I get woken up in the middle of the night, I have a really hard time going back to sleep, but I was determined to fall back asleep. As soon as I was almost out, Annabelle started in with crying about a blanket not being in the right place... a tag itching her back... a pillow that she didn't want... a pillow that she DID want (the same pillow that she didn't want just seconds earlier)... her blanket not being on her toes... her blanket not covering her shoulder (it was until she started moving around)... wanting Mommy... and whatever else she could come up with. Now, it's nearly 2 hours later, and I'm not back to sleep yet. I finally told her that I wasn't dealing with that any more and was going to sleep in the living room while she went back to sleep in my room. She's still crying, and I'm still sitting out here, awake, with Keith attempting to fall asleep on the couch.

Freakin' cold weather. Freakin' loser contractor. Freakin' house that isn't finished. Freakin' lack of sleep. Freak!

Haha! I know... in Florida. :) But it's been getting down into the 40s at night, and there isn't much insulation in that room at all. It gets pretty freakin' cold. :(

I can verify the office can get pretty cold at night!! Hope the conditions (weather, construction, AC/Heat) are all working by the time I get there or it's gonna get really croweded in your bedroom with all of us in there ;) Guess I'd better bring the blow up bed in case Belle and I have to sleep in the living room.. Can't wait to get there and help out with the grandbabies! At least you'll get a little break!
