Little Diving Donald

One of my coolest birthday presents was Annabelle learning how to dive on my birthday. I only had to explain it to her and pull her in by the hands (with no contesting from her) once, then she wanted to try it herself... and the rest is history! At only 29 months old, she's already a really good diver and barely leaves a splash! Amazing!

It seems like every time we get into the pool, Annabelle swims better and better. She's doing really good with using her arms and legs to propel herself, and she opens her eyes. She likes to put her head into the water to retrieve things from the bottom of the pool (and by "bottom of the pool", I mean whatever she's able to stand on and still have her head above water... usually a step). When she jumps in and swims to us, she's always saying "go farther" to get us to move back until we tell her it's far enough. I still need to work with her on how to take a breath while she's swimming, but she's really impressing the heck out of me!

Now she just needs to teach Daddy how to dive. :)

Yah for Annabelle! Great form :)ISR REALLY pays off doesn't it? When we were taking the class, I remember thinking/wondering if it was all worth it (the every day a week, crying, etc). But...not only does your child learn to save themselves if they fall in...I really feel like it was the reason my 2 fish were swimming, diving to the bottom of the pool, and loved the water by age 2....it is truly amazing isn't it?
