My Mother's Day

Now that I'm a mother, I realize what a big deal Mother's Day is and it makes me so happy to be given the special treatment on Mommy's special day. Today started out with getting to sleep in (or rather, re-sleep in since I was up feeding Corgan before passing him off to Daddy), followed by fixing the A/C, and getting an email telling me that I now have a NetFlix subscription so that Keith and I can have some alone time to watch movies together (YEA!). Then I was treated to lunch with my family at Charlie & Jake's (Yummy BBQ!), followed by a trip to Wickham park to take a picture of me with my kiddies. After the park we were on the way home when Keith pulled into the parking lot of a massage place and told me to get out because I had a massage waiting for me inside! YEA!

I was so difficult when it came to the surprise. Keith purposefully suggested a place that wasn't close for lunch so that we would have to go by the massage place on the way back. While didn't suggest anything else, I did hesitate to go in the first place because it was past nap time and Annabelle hadn't napped yet. We went anyway. :) Then I complained because Keith took the long way (which really wasn't the long way anyway), then complained because he wanted to stop at the park for pictures when I just wanted a little snapshot in front of a tree because I didn't have any pictures that I could find of me with both kids. THEN I complained because he suggested that we go get ice cream in front of Annabelle and I thought we should just go straight home because she was super tired by then. With all of Keith's pushing, we ended up arriving at the massage place at the exact right time, and I got a wonderful neck and back massage (my favorite massage spots... along with my feet)! I sure am a difficult person to surprise (just ask Nikki), but it's always worth it (for me anyway) in the end!

In addition to the wonderful surprises today, Annabelle made some beautiful Mother's Day presents for me at school (and has been saying "Happy Mother's Day" all week... I LOVE that!!!). She made me a card, painted a flower magnet with her picture in it, and decorated a flower vase for me. It's crazy how happy those little crafts can make a Mommy! I LOVE it!

Thank you Keith, Annabelle, and Corgan for a wonderful Mother's Day! I love you guys!

Glad your husband persisted in giving you what you deserve, even while you were being difficult. :) I am the same way. I am also hard to surprise. You are a control freak like me and want to be in charge of the plans and whatnot.

I love the picture of you and Corgan at the restaurant both smiling- that is PRECIOUS! What a happy family you have. It really shows how much those kids love you! Way to go Keith for being persistant- you are a tough cookie to surprise. Course I'm the same "controlling" way!

Sounds like a great day.... love all that all of you have shades in your picture. I can't believe how much bigger/older Corgan looks since I last saw him like a week and a half ago!
