Deleting My Kids

Does anyone else have multiple versions of the same pictures of your kids (or nieces or pets or grandkids or fill-in-the-blank-with-something-else-that-you-love) because you feel like if you delete the picture you're deleting your kid? When it comes to photography in this digital age, I run with the "take as many shots as you can and one of them is bound to be perfect" camp. I end up with 10-20 pictures of the same pose and have a hard time editing it down to just the perfect ONE. Now that my harddrive is starting to fill up because I have so many pictures (according to my "keyword" counts in iPhoto, I already have 7374 of Annabelle and 1223 of Corgan... but I know there are lots that I missed tagging with a keyword too), deleting photos is getting easier, but I still feel like if I delete a picture, even if it looks just like the previous picture except for a turned up corner in the mouth or something minor like that, then I'm deleting a memory.

Does anyone else suffer from this fear of hitting the delete button?

It's funny, but in my house, its the opposite. I'd rather just keep the favorites of each set so that I have a manageable amount of pictures stored. But Jason HATES when I delete a picture. He wants to keep them all! This is especially true of videos.

I'm with Nikki - if I have 5 of a similar shot - i'm good with deleting the ones with the crooked mouth or the garbage can in the background - i've got wayyy too many pictures too - and this past weekend even started cleaning out my events to downsize.... but i sure dont have the amount of pix u have! wow!

As with Nikki's situation, Kyle seems more annoyed when I delete a picture than I do :) So you'll have to talk to him :) Our iphoto is starting to get overwhelmed, so I need to do some housecleaning very soon....

I just make myself delete them- I mean I know there is a few that are good and as long as Kelson has the same expression/face/smile in a similar one- I just pick the best. One picture will explain a thousand things!
