Proof that Sleeping Habits are Genetic

Keith has always been someone who could sleep anywhere. I joke that I have pictures of him sleeping all over the world (seriously though, I do... someday I'll post an album of pictures that are just Keith sleeping). He falls asleep on trains, in airports, in cars, and sometimes even standing up. Well, maybe not really standing up, but just about. Anyway... apparently Corgan has inherited his ability to fall asleep anywhere, although Corgan seems to take it to an extreme.

A few months ago, I found Corgan sleeping right in the middle of the living room area, in front of the kitchen floor.

A few weeks ago, Corgan slept on the floor in Annabelle's room so that I could stay up late packing in his room. When I went in to wake them up in the morning, Corgan was sleeping under the table in the corner of her room using Macy's dog bed as a pillow.

The other night, I found Corgan in the strangest place so far...
Annabelle and Corgan had been playing in the playroom in the back of the house, and I was in the living room. Annabelle came out and said "Where's my brother?" I responded "I thought he was with you?" Corgan also has a way of just disappearing and not coming out when you call him, so Annabelle and I both set off to find him. I looked in the playroom and closet, checked the bathroom, looked in my office... and here's what I found...
Corgan's feet under my desk! I still thought he was just hiding though, so I walked around to check the view from the other side of my desk and...

He was sleeping! Not just sleeping, but propped up on the footrest of the desk! I called Annabelle in and we both laughed. We took pictures. I had Keith come in and check him out when he got home. And Corgan finally woke up when Annabelle crawled under there with him and woke him up.

Then finally, this morning, here's what I found when I went into Corgan's room to wake him up...

What? You don't see Corgan? That's because he is sleeping UNDER his fitted sheet. And yes, the fitted sheet is still totally ON the bed! What a crazy kid!

In general, Corgan is a strange sleeper. Yes, his bed is just a mattress on the floor. That's because he rolls ALL OVER the place while he sleeps. A few months ago, Corgan started climbing out of his crib. That was fine, until his crib started falling apart because of it. He still needed the borders on all sides though, so instead of converting his crib into a toddler bed where he was sure to still fall out, I made his mattress into a bed on the floor. About 95% of the time, when I go in to check on him before I go to bed, he is not in his bed, and about 75% of that 95% of the time, he's in the middle of the room instead of in the corner of his room where his bed is. He knows he's a crazy sleeper too. Many mornings he wakes up before we do, so he comes pitter-pattering into our room. If it's early enough, he'll crawl into our bed and lay on my chest. He'll usually fall back asleep for a little while, but lately, after a while, he is rolling around into so many uncomfortable (for me) positions that he decides that he'd rather be back in his bed so he'll even get up and go back into his room and lay in his bed on his own.

It'll be interesting to see where these sleeping habits go as he grows up. :)
