Lately I've been watching "Californication" (Season 1) on my video iPod while I'm on the elliptical. It doesn't necessarily make me go my fastest, but it definitely makes the time go by faster. Each episode is about 25 minutes long, so it's good for my 30 minute sessions (I usually do 30 mins, then weights, then 30 mins again). I'm already almost done with Season 1 and will be ready to start the Season 2 episode that I have saved on my TiVo. :)
I've also finally gotten it together to get a "workout" playlist together for my iPod. I listen to that while doing weights or when I need to get myself really going on the cardio. My playlist ranges from old Alanis to Black Eyed Peas to Blink 182. My go-to song when I really need to get myself pumped to do weights that I'm too tired to do or finish a cardio session when I'm already exhausted is Marky Mark's Good Vibrations. Seriously, that song kicks total butt for pushing me. The words and the beat are both perfect. Funny; huh? Kinda sad too that many of my workout songs are from 15-20 years ago (or more in the case of "Eye of the Tiger"). Anyway, my playlist is pretty puny so if you have any suggestions, please pass them along!

I listen to a lot of country music but I don't know if you're into that :) I love Kenny Chesney and Sugarland! I actually like listening to slower songs sometimes (Robin Thicke, Colbie Calliat, James Blunt, Norah Jones, etc). I find that it helps me slow down my breathing and relax more when I'm running hard. Is that starnge or what?
So...you're loving the elliptical? I may have to try it again! Good luck on Sunday...last weigh in, right? Who is in the lead now?

My motivational song that makes me work harder is "Going the Distance" by Cake. I also like Eminem songs. I am more of a hip hop girl. Let's hear your playlist! I will post mine on my blog.

I love Green Day songs (from the Dookie album), Beastie Boys, 311, Outkast. I wish I could find my old workout cd from college. It had some good hip hop songs to work out to. The one that always pushed me hardest was B.O.B. by Outkast. I need to make a new workout cd too. Thanks for the suggestions!
Yours is as lame as mine......

And, for some reason, I ALWAYS put Under Pressure by Queen on every playlist.
