My First Outing with Two Babies... The Doctor's Office

Annabelle's 18 month check-up was originally scheduled for the first day that I was on bedrest (in early August), so I had to reschedule it and the earliest that they could get her in was today. So, this morning we got up and with my mom's help, I got Annabelle, myself, and Corgan ready to go. Annabelle's appointment was at 10:00am, and we didn't even leave the house until 10:11am! When we finally got there, I walked Annabelle in holding her hand, while my mom looked for a parking spot with Corgan. I went in and explained that I was SOOO late because it was my first time out of the house with two babies, and they laughed and brought us back almost immediately.

Belle was fine in the waiting room, but as soon as we got just outside of the exam room, Annabelle didn't want to go in and started crying. She screamed for pretty much the rest of the appointment, and kept hitting the nurse and telling her "bye-bye". Not long after we got into the exam room, Grammy and Corgan showed up. He was fine at first, but within a few minutes he started screaming too. We had to take Belle out of the room to be weighed, and she wasn't cooperating as far as walking there herself goes, so Grammy had to hand Corgan off to me while she transported Annabelle. So, at this point we're out in the middle of the exam room area with two VERY loud babies. I couldn't help but laugh. :)

We finally got Annabelle weighed (she wouldn't cooperate and stand on the big-girl scale so she had to sit in the baby scale... which she nearly jumped out of), and got back into the exam room to wait for the doctor to come see us and realized that Corgan had pooped. Grammy changed him, while I tried to calm Annabelle. Since there weren't any doctors or nurses in the room, Annabelle finally calmed down (as seen in the picture above), but little did she know... the best part was yet to come: the shots! Of course, she was not a fan of the shots, but once the nurse left the room again, she was okay and we were off to get stickers and treats and everything was just fine! Corgan even fell asleep (as seen in the picture below). :)

Corgan's 1 week appointment is Wednesday, but I think we'll get Daddy or Grammy to babysit Belle at home while the other one takes Corgan and I to the doctor.

At Belle's appointment today, she measured 35" long and 26 lbs 8 oz. That puts her in the 75th percentile for weight and off the charts for height. At only 18 months, she's the average size of a 27 month old!
