Mommy's a Hot Fatty!

No... not "hot" in the good sense of the word... "hot" in the sweating, sticky, and miserable sense of the word!

Every since our vacation over the 4th of July, our a/c has been acting up by flipping the air compressor fuse periodically so that the a/c starts blowing out hot air. This has happened at all times of the day, including the middle of the night so we have to get up and go down into the workshop to flip the breaker back on. This has temporarily resolved the problem for at least a few hours and sometimes as long as days. Until today...

I finally had a chance to find a recommended a/c person and called them to come out today (well, they were actually supposed to have come out yesterday, but they wrote down the wrong phone number for us, so it took me calling them back yesterday afternoon to find out what happened for them to schedule someone). A guy came out this morning and looked at the a/c unit and after waffling back and forth decided that we needed a new unit or compressor, but he was supposed to get back to us with an estimate. Since the morning guy seemed unsure, I decided to call someone else out to get a second opinion. The second person had the same answer, but we still hadn't gotten a quote back from the first by mid-afternoon so I called them back. Apparently, the morning guy had gotten really sick and went home without letting anyone know the results from our service call, so they sent another person out this afternoon (they sent him out quickly once they realized that the morning guy had done something so that we had absolutely NO a/c now AND I'm 7.5 months pregnant). The afternoon guy determined that we needed a new unit or compressor too (2 of them said it was probably lightning that caused all of this), so... we're still without air, nearly naked, sweating like pigs, and panting like dogs! According to the termostat upstairs, it's over 90 degrees in here!

They're supposed to have someone out first thing tomorrow morning to put an end to this misery, but until then... I'm fat, miserable, and hot as a pregnant lady in the middle of the Florida summer heat!

I am quite familiar with how hot that house gets with no AC! And I must say, you are handling it better than I would!! I say go over to Ben's! I mean he's slept at your place before, right? Plus, he's in Denver- he'll never know! (You don't think he reads your comments do you? Uh-oh...)

Hope it gets sorted soon. If only we could swap some of your heat for some of our cold and rain - we could both reach a happy medium. It's been raining here for about 10 days - quite a few major towns and cities are under 4-6 feet of water, including Gloucester and Oxford in the South and about 3 weeks ago Sheffield and Hull in the North. We're OK here; no flooding, just incessant rain. It's supposed to be the height of summer!

OMG...I'm sweating just reading this. I was at my in-laws all weekend and they deliberately turn off the air because my father-in-law is old and cold.

I was sweating and miserable for two days but I knew I was coming home last night.

GOOD LUCK! I feel your pain.
