When I got home from my appointment, of course the first thing I did was jump on the internet to see the possible reasons for a larger than normal fetus (technically called "LGA- Large for Gestational Age"). The most common reasons are gestational diabetes (but my test results were normal), large parents (we aren't small, but I don't think I'd consider either of us "large"), and excessive weight gain by the mother (I've gained about 30 lbs up to now, but that's pretty much on par for what I gained with Annabelle and with other moms I've spoken to). Of course there are a few very rare genetic disorders that could cause this, but I highly doubt that's it. Maybe he's just positioned weird or something. Liz Price did tell me recently that she had a dream that she saw me and I had a huge belly to the front because Corgan was laying straight (not in the fetal position) in my stomach which was causing the huge belly. Maybe that was a sign. :)
Anyway, within the next week, I get to see Corgan again. It's funny, with Annabelle, we had the one sonogram and paid for the 3D/4D one, but with Corgan, this will be the 4th time we get a sonogram (at 6 weeks to verify he was there, at 12 weeks because we couldn't find the heartbeat, at 20 weeks for the regular sonogram, and now again at 28 weeks). Since I'm planning to have a c-section anyway, I don't know if having a large baby will move up the planned delivery date or if he'll just leave it the same. Guess I'll know more soon (hopefully)!
There are so many little things that I've been meaning to write about, but I've been so busy between planning a baby shower for my sister, planning another baby shower for friends who will be adopting a little boy within the next couple of weeks, getting things organized for our upcoming vacations to NC and AL, keeping up with Annabelle's swimming lessons and now gymnastics starting again, finalizing the plans for the addition/renovation to the house (hopefully I'll be posting these soon), and now Keith's company has decided to open up a development office in Melbourne so I've been helping him out with finding office space here (and soon I'll be helping with furnishing and decorating it... which I'm really excited to do!). I'm getting behind on my monthly digital scrapbook pages for Annabelle (but I do have the pictures and I'm keeping a list of her words and milestones, so I'm good with that as soon as I have the time to put the actual pages together) and I have quite a few videos of her to upload. I got some really cute video today of her doing the "Wiggle Dance" from Jack's Big Music Show and doing a sommersault all by herself!!! The new semester just started today at Tumbleweeds, so she's had a couple of weeks off from gymnastics. It's crazy how much more she seems to be doing in just those 2 weeks though! Even though we stuck with the same day of the week, there are all new kids in her class. She went from being one of the youngest to one of the oldest. It's kinda strange for her to not be the baby of the group.
Swimming lessons are going okay. They definitely aren't progressing as quickly as I was expecting. From what I hear, her age group (12-18 month) is the hardest to teach (wish I'd known that before starting the lessons). Plus she's super stubborn (don't know where she got that from!), so she's taking a while. She is definitely showing progress... it's just very slow. It's tough to watch her cry for the whole lesson too. Hopefully in the next week she'll at least get the floating part down since she'll be out for a couple of weeks after that. The instructor said that if she does get the floating down, then it's up to us whether to continue to get the swimming part or just be happy with knowing that she can get herself to the floating position if she were to fall in somewhere (the primary focus of this course is safety, not swimming skills). There are some pictures of her crying and learning floating on the photo gallery.
Despite the stubbornness and tantrums that we've seen from Annabelle lately, she has done a couple of really cute things recently. One was the other day when she had left some chicken on the tray in her highchair and she wanted to get down and play. As she was playing, she went over and picked up one of her favorite teddy bears and brought it to her highchair to sit it in the chair. Then she started pretend-feeding it her leftovers. It was so cute! And yesterday, Belle noticed some food that had been smushed into the carpet and was trying to pick it up. When I told her, "No... Yuck!" She immediately went over to get our dog Macy's attention, and signed to her "food" and pointed to where it was. Of course, Macy doesn't know sign language so she didn't budge, but it was so cute that she knew that if there was scrap food on the floor to get the dog to eat it. :)
Well, it's late, and I need to get some sleep now! Hopefully I'll blog more often and get some things uploaded (but don't hold your breath), but at the very least I'll report the results of the sonogram once we get it! I'm hoping they'll call me tomorrow to let me know when the sonogram is!

I was measuring a little off at my last appt too, but I think I was 2 cm small. The doctor seemed to have a time trying to find the top of the uterus so I didn't worry about it too much and he didn't seem concerned.
I love when kids are able to pretend things (feeding her bear). It makes them seem so much more like little people. Just keep posting those pictures and we'll be happy. :)
Oh my geez lady! Here I was thinking that since you aren't working, you wouldn't be so busy- ah, what a non-mother mentality!
Goodness gracious! I can't wait to see your big belly (and more sonogram pictures of Corgan)! And of course, to see the new office and hear all the plans you have for it! Those developers will be working in style, I just know it!
